Throughout the year Harry Robertson may be found fishing in Africa, Australia, New Guinea, Costa Rica, or South America. When not globe-trotting with clients overseas, he often makes trips to Montana and Louisiana—and he admits that he has a soft spot for Alaska. His years of destination fishing experience have earned him a rock-solid reputation as a purveyor of extraordinary guided trips.

“I’ve fished all over the world,” says Robertson, “but you’d have to look long and hard to find a better operation in Alaska than Alagnak Lodge (www.alagnaklodge.com). Some of my customers have been known to fish until their arms ache. Whatever you’re looking for here, you can find it: all five species of salmon; heavy, aggressive trout; and beautiful grayling.”

The lodge overlooks the Alagnak River, which sees millions of king, sockeye, silver, pink, and chum salmon swim within a stone’s throw of the lodge each season. Whereas guests at many other Alaskan lodges will spend hours each day flying to remote locations to fish, our Grand Prize winners will sleep in, awaken to a full breakfast, and be fishing within moments of leaving the Alagnak Lodge.

When he’s not traveling, Robertson may be found giving private casting lessons to clients on his custom-made casting pond and showroom just outside of Richmond, Virginia. To learn more about Hanover Fly Fishers, Ltd. or to discuss your next trip, contact Hanover Fly Fishers at 804-537-5036, or visit www.hanoverfly.com.
